About TMF AI ICURe Discover
Funded through the UKRI Technology Missions Fund, TMF AI ICURe Discover aims to enhance market awareness and deepen the understanding of potential technology applications and its barriers to adoption.
TMF AI ICURe Discover is designed to help researchers translate their responsible and trustworthy AI innovations into real-world use — with a focus on accelerating adoption in high-growth industries, healthcare and sectors where AI can contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
It is a part-time online market discovery programme using the lean startup methodology, which applies the scientific method (hypothesise, test, evaluate) to business ideas. Participants will learn how to use this approach to gauge their potential customers’ needs for their idea, product or service. This programme is suitable for participants looking to explore the adoption potential of their early-stage projects, where they already have an idea of who might adopt their technology and why.

TMF AI ICURe Discover bootcamp will take place on the 17th and 18th November 2025. The programme will end on 22nd January 2026 with teams delivering their reflective presentations. You will need to be available for the entire two-day bootcamp, pitch training and presentation day but can be flexible with the rest of your involvement (75 hours self-study and 5 hours meeting with mentors).

E-waste is the world’s fastest-growing waste stream, with over 100,000 tonnes of electricals binned every year in the UK alone. Material Focus is making it easier to fix, donate and recycle our existing electricals, helping us all to save the valuable, critical and finite materials inside them from going to waste. Some brilliant innovation is already happening, but many electrical and electronic products and smart devices still aren’t designed to be easily reused or recycled. And we lack the systems to recover all the valuable materials inside them.
Material Focus have launched the £1m Circular Electricals Fund to tackle this problem.
We are searching for practical, scalable solutions that enhance resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and encourage collaboration across the industry. We welcome fresh ideas that address key challenges in developing consumer electricals.
Three types of project are eligible:
Materials – Using and recovering materials more efficiently to conserve resources, reduce waste, and recover value (e.g. bioleaching, biodegradable circuit boards, low-carbon materials) Product design – making electricals more durable, repairable, upgradeable, and long lasting Business models – developing new services that promote reuse, sharing, and waste reduction (e.g. leasing, product-as-a-service, smart homes, libraries of things) We expect the majority of projects to be delivered across a 12-month period, although, where necessary, this may differ.

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), in collaboration with Innovate UK, will invest up to £3 million in this Contracts for Innovation competition.
The aim of this competition is to build on the DESNZ Unlocking Resource Efficiency research by supporting organisations to deliver an impact validation report for a resource efficiency solution.
If your own organisation does not have operations in the relevant sector, we expect you to include an integration supporter in your project to help facilitate the impact validation of your solution. This could be (e.g.) a manufacturer, recovery business, remanufacture or repair business, potential customer, or a specialist in impact validation.
The impact validation should be informed by a demonstration which may be carried out as part of the project or otherwise conducted within the last five years.
The innovative resource efficiency solutions should address themes in one of the following strands:

To lead a project, you can:
be an organisation of any size, including those based in the EU, EEA or internationally work alone or with the subcontracted skills and expertise of others from business, research organisations, research and technology organisations, or the third sector (charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups) Contracts will be awarded to a single legal entity only. The majority of the project work and key deliverables must be completed by the applicant and be carried out in the UK. Subcontractors can be used, but only for specialist skills.

Demonstrations should be in a suitable industrial environment within the UK to enable the effective validation of the solution’s viability and impacts. We also welcome applications for solutions which have been demonstrated in a relevant sector in the UK within the last five years, but which have not yet reached commercial maturity and require further impact validation.
Your project could involve, for example:
a manufacturer within the chosen sector, for example, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers, raw material producers recovery businesses, for example, demolition companies, scrap processors, re-use and recycling facilities remanufacturing and repair businesses organisations that have the potential to become a customer specialists in impact validation, for example, in Life Cycle Analysis We recommend approaching potential integration supporters as early as possible during the application process or early stages of your project. This ensures your industry relationships are well established before delivering the project demonstration. We welcome projects that include innovative startups.

This is supporting the government’s commitment to transition the UK to a Net Zero, circular economy.
This competition will focus on the impact validation of resource efficiency solutions. This competition will support the development and delivery of high maturity demonstrations, and the validation of demonstrators from recent (within the last five years) research and development projects.
This competition will:
enable efficient integration of technologies into targeted industrial sectors support innovative suppliers for market readiness provide more granular evidence on the potential impact of resource efficiency solutions to help meet the UK’s territorial carbon budget targets As a minimum, proposals into this competition must relate to solutions at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 or higher. If you have validated your solution at TRL5 (in a relevant environment) your project should be to validate up to TRL7 (in an operational environment) and gather operational data to develop a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
If you have already validated at TRL7, your project should be to gather operational data to develop an LCA.
In both cases, the solution should still be a prototype or custom built system, not a full commercial version. You must show evidence of this, the testing and validation previously undertaken as part of your application and identify the TRL that you expect to be at start and end of the project.

A key project deliverable, that must be included in your milestones, is a demonstration of the solution. The further validation of demonstrations and trials from recent research and development projects is also in scope, provided these meet the eligibility requirements for this competition. Costs for retrospective work cannot be claimed, only new analysis to validate the potential impact of the demonstrated technology.
The demonstration must take place in an environment representative of where the solution will be deployed, allowing for effective evaluation. As part of your project milestones, you are encouraged to invite stakeholders from your target sector to a demonstration event. The demonstration must take place in a setting where potential customers and industry representatives can witness the solution as a compelling business proposition.
If your own organisation does not have operations in the relevant sector, we expect you to include an integration supporter, for example, a trusted sector representative in your project to help facilitate the demonstration and trialling of your solution. In their role as potential future customers, they will be well placed to propose an appropriately representative environment.
You will be expected to collaborate with your integration supporter to achieve this, securing all necessary permissions and approvals.
Example environments include:

No previous coding experience is needed. We welcome all students aged 13 - 18 years – both beginners and experts alike – to join us from July 9th, 2025 to July 3rd, 2025 for UNity Hacks 2024!

We are a Society of Women Engineers x Women in STEM club based in San Diego, California. Our club's mission is to inspire young girls to explore the fields of STEM and pursue their aspirations. We place an emphasis on fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment in STEM.
Keeping this in mind, this hackathon is open to all students from the ages of 13-18 to participate! We highly encourage everyone to join, regardless of your past experience with Computer Science. UNity Hacks is a great chance to make connections and find new opportunities!

Join the DIATOMIC Digital Accelerator and help shape a smarter, more sustainable future for the region.
Funded by Innovate UK and the West Midlands Combined Authority, the accelerator programme is delivered by Connected Places Catapult in partnership with Birmingham City Council, University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University, Aston University and in collaboration with Wolverhampton City Council and University of Wolverhampton. It supports SMEs developing digital solutions that can help improve how cities and places work, to support better decision-making in infrastructure planning, environmental management, and sustainable development.
Running from October 2025 to March 2026, the accelerator programme has been designed to drive regional innovation, boost economic growth, and create jobs and opportunities across the West Midlands. Supporting up to 10 SMEs, the programme will provide tailored commercial and technical support to each SME. This support will be scoped through a thorough business needs assessment and could include market analysis, value proposition refinement, strategic pricing, financial forecasting, and developing compelling communication strategies.
At least 5 SMEs will be selected to trial their solutions at a demo day, and a total pot of £100k will be made available to develop and demonstrate their digital twin use case with the support of the programme partners. We expect projects to cost between £10k and £20k.

The accelerator is part of the wider DIATOMIC Digital Twin project, which provides a real-time digital model of the city to support better decision-making in infrastructure planning, environmental management, and sustainable development. The platform’s open design means it can connect with a wide range of APIs, digital tools and systems. It uses shared data to produce outputs such as 3D visualisations. This gives SMEs the chance to bring in their own expertise and help shape the platform’s features and uses. We are looking for solutions that can be added to the DIATOMIC digital twin platform to help reimagine a smarter, more sustainable West Midlands.
During phase 1 (2023-25), three use cases were developed on the digital twin platform (air quality and traffic management, hydrogen fuel cells for electric vehicles and energy systems). These use cases operate on real-time data collected from existing sensors and datasets in the West Midlands.
Phase 2 (2025-26) introduces new challenge areas developed in collaboration with local partners in Birmingham and Wolverhampton. These exploratory initiatives will require innovative solutions that leverage datasets provided, curated, or aggregated by SMEs.
As part of this opportunity, SMEs can either select a challenge area which connects to one of the existing use cases , therefore working with already compiled data, or choose a challenge which would require you to gather and integrate new data to help develop and test your solution on the digital twin platform.
Developed as part of the 2023–2025 UKRI West Midlands Innovation Accelerator, the DIATOMIC Digital Twin Platform uses Azure Digital Twin technology to help cities make data-driven decisions. It has already supported pilot projects focused on:

Closing the tax gap is a key strategic priority for HMRC. In the 2023 to 2024 tax year, the tax gap is estimated to be 5.3% of total theoretical tax liabilities, or £46.8 billion in absolute terms. This is driven by a range of customer behaviours from simple error to deliberate evasion. Identifying deliberate evasion is inherently difficult across a very large population of customers. By its nature the intent of deliberate evasion is to hide and deceive. This can lead to sub-optimal targeting of investigations by HMRC which impacts HMRC’s ability to close the tax gap and increases the burden on compliant customers. Being able to identify deliberate evasion accurately at population level will improve HMRC’s approach to managing the tax gap and reduce the impact on compliant customers.
This competitive procurement will invite novel and innovative solutions to closing the tax gap within a customer group on the theme of tackling evasion behaviour. The competition is open to all registered businesses.
Potential solutions may include (but are not limited to) analytical techniques and data that can help identify indicators of potential evasion in HMRC’s risking processes. However, this is an open competition, and HMRC would like to explore a range of innovative solutions that can contribute to the primary objective of closing the tax gap.
A multi-stage competitive flexible procedure will be used with features designed to support innovation, encourage participation especially from Small and Medium sized Enterprises, and to enable HMRC to implement a solution to the problem statement.
The first round submission will comprise of a short proposal and mandatory exclusion criteria. Bidders selected to proceed to further rounds will receive funding to support them through the rounds of the competition. There will be a funded pilot phase as part of the competition. Bidders are encouraged to join the launch event on the 21st July to learn about the stages of the competition. A full detailed description will be included in the tender documentation and further funding updates will be added to this page once available.
A launch event introducing the problem statement and the detail of the competitive flexible procedure will be held virtually, via Microsoft Teams, on Monday 21st July 2025 at 11am to 12:30pm. Bidders must register for HMRC’s SAP Ariba eSourcing portal (see below for details) and complete the registration form to register for the launch event by 3pm on Friday 18th July.
Late requests to join the event may be considered up to 10am on Monday 21st July.
The launch event will be recorded and the recording will be available to all bidders who enter the competition on SAP Ariba.

The aim of this competition is to:

be an active farming, growing or forestry business of any size based in England be able to evidence that you are an established commercial business, including sole traders and partnerships have a UK bank account Organisations that are not profit driven or do not have a commercial focus, including Community Interest Companies (CICs) and charities, are not allowed to participate in this competition.
Subcontractors are not allowed in this competition.
A farmer, grower or forester can only lead on one application per competition round and receive a maximum of two Facilitator Support Grants in total.

To be eligible to apply for this competition, you must:
engage with an external Project Facilitator that is registered in the Innovate UK Business Connect database work with the facilitator to develop and submit an eligible application for a Full ADOPT Grant competition If you are successful in this competition you will need to:
provide evidence that your Full ADOPT Grant application has been sent for assessment submit a claim within six months of receiving your Grant Offer letter A total of £2,500 will be awarded per successful participant once the claim and evidence is submitted.
If you are successful in the Full ADOPT Grants, any awards given to primary agricultural producers are subject to the green box exemption under the WTO Agreement on Agriculture. Please see further guidance on green box subsidies here WTO Guidance for support in Agriculture.
Applicants receiving this type of support must ensure that there is minimal to no distortion of trade and comply with the requirements of Annex 2 of the Agriculture Agreement.

This grant is intended for a farmer, grower or forester based in England to engage an external Project Facilitator to support with the submission into the Full ADOPT Grant competitions. The Project Facilitator must be registered in the Innovate UK Business Connect Project Facilitator database.
The ADOPT Support Hub, run by ADAS, has been commissioned to work on ADOPT and they can support applicants and funded projects throughout their journey. They can:
