Cambridge Angels comprises over 60 high-net-worth investors dedicated to supporting and guiding promising early-stage and scaling companies across Cambridge, London, Oxford, and the broader UK. In 2022, the group invested a substantial £71.2 million in 58 companies.

Typically, the funding requirements met by Cambridge Angels fall within the £150,000 to £1.5 million range. However, many of their portfolio companies have successfully secured significant follow-on funding from both the members and the network's venture capital partners across multiple funding rounds. The network places a specific emphasis on deep-tech and tools and technologies that contribute to healthcare advancements.

Members of Cambridge Angels have played key roles in founding, investing in, and leading numerous successful companies based in Cambridge. Examples include Paragraf, Arecor, Eagle Genomics, Privitar, and Healx. Beyond financial support, Cambridge Angels provides valuable expertise, extensive networks, and firsthand experience to early-stage and scaling companies, offering what they term "smart capital from entrepreneurs to entrepreneurs."
