Overview: The Energy Monitoring and Tracking Systems (EM & T) grant, funded under the Enterprise Emissions Reduction Investment Fund, aims to assist companies in implementing energy monitoring and tracking systems for carbon footprint accounting. This initiative is part of Ireland's National Recovery and Resilience Plan, funded by the EU, and falls under the Green Transition Fund, focusing on accelerating Irish enterprise decarbonisation.

Eligible costs include new hardware for energy metering and tracking, covering:

  • Hardware for new metering systems (e.g., electricity, gas, diesel, oil, water, steam, loggers)
  • Installation and commissioning costs

Eligible Costs:

  • Minimum eligible expenditure: €10,000
  • Maximum eligible expenditure: €100,000

Eligible Grant:

  • Up to 50% of eligible costs
  • Minimum grant aid: €5,000
  • Maximum grant aid: €50,000

Note: Costs are based on equipment expenses excluding VAT. Expenditure incurred before the application date renders the project ineligible.

Fund Operation:

  • Open call basis, closing on 1 October 2025 or upon budget exhaustion
  • Project completion by 31 August 2026
  • Must comply with EU and national environmental legislation, including the β€˜Do no significant harm’ Technical Guidance (2021/C58/01).

Eligibility:

  • Manufacturing clients of Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, and ÚdarΓ‘s na Gaeltachta
  • Minimum of 10 full-time employees in Ireland at application time
  • At least 5 years of sales generation
  • De minimis funding as the State Aid basis

Application Process:

  • Discuss with assigned Development Advisor before applying
  • Apply via the Enterprise Ireland Online Application System
  • First-time applicants must register on the system
  • Organisational carbon footprint details required (using tools like the Climate Toolkit 4 Business Carbon Calculator, GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, ISO 14064-1 Standard, or similar)
