Standing out in a crowded industry can be daunting. Share your thoughts on positioning, innovation, or marketing strategies that have helped you carve out a niche and thrive in a competitive environment.

I would probably try to find a way of offering more, if it's a service, or I'd create something better, if it's a product.  That way I'd stand out amongst the crowd.  It's probably easier said than done, though. 

I mostly focus on appealing to a different demographic.  If the other service is marketed to women, then I target men.  If it's styled towards adults, then I target children.  I also try to put my price just under the competitor's. 

I think one of the biggest bloody mistakes founders make is trying to compete on everything! If you're trying to be cheaper, better, faster and offer more features than everyone else, you'll usually lose to businesses that specialise.

What has worked best for me is building a community around the product rather than just selling the product itself. When people trust your brand, get value from your content and feel like they're part of something bigger, price becomes much less important. There's power in community!

I'd also say don't be afraid to have a strong opinion. Businesses that try to appeal to everyone often end up memorable to no one. Having a clear niche, a recognisable voice and consistently helping your audience is usually what helps you stand out over the long term.
