Cambridge Angels comprises a collective of over 60 affluent investors dedicated to supporting and guiding top-tier, nascent and expanding firms in Cambridge, London, Oxford, and across the UK. In 2022, this group channelled ยฃ71.2 million into 58 enterprises.

The financial support typically offered by Cambridge Angels ranges from ยฃ150,000 to ยฃ1.5 million. However, numerous companies in their portfolio have secured substantial subsequent investments from its members and venture capital allies across various funding stages. The group shows a strong interest in advanced technology, particularly in innovations and tools that enhance healthcare services.

Members of this network have initiated, funded, and managed numerous prosperous companies based in Cambridge, including notable names like Paragraf, Arecor, Eagle Genomics, Privitar, and Healx. Beyond monetary investment, Cambridge Angels provides invaluable expertise, networks, and directly applicable experience to emerging and growing businesses, offering what they describe as "smart capital from entrepreneurs to entrepreneurs."

The focus is also on harnessing the collective wisdom of both the angel investors and their portfolio. They organise sessions where the angels, along with a network of professionals and associates, offer educational seminars to portfolio companies on various topics, including exit strategies and the development of leadership teams.

Since its establishment in September 2001, Cambridge Angels has invested over ยฃ150 million in more than 120 portfolio companies. Currently, 24 of these companies are in the scale-up phase, having initially received seed funding and ongoing support from Cambridge Angels.
