This event started as Outside Hacks in 2013. Previous participants have gone on to sell their companies to Nvidia and Apple and get their music startups funded by YC.

Now it is Outside LLMs w AI and the partnership and magic remain the same. We are the only Buildathon associated with a major music festival and this is Silicon Valleys biggest entertainment festival so it remains the perfect storm. The challenges are to use AI to help festival attendees have better experiences, bring Ranger Dave to life, help musicians just make music, help musicians produce music in new ways, and innovate on the underlying business models of the industry. Winners go on to Demo at AWS Builder loft on Aug 4 then go live at the festival and final awards Aug 11th.
