Roomgi is a tech-enabled accommodation and property discovery platform that helps students and working professionals find verified PGs, rental rooms, hotels, flats, shared accommodations, and buy or sell residential properties near colleges and workplaces.

Hackathon Overview

Roomgi Hackathon 2026 is a problem-solving, technology-focused hackathon designed to give 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year undergraduate students an opportunity to work on real-world industry problems, showcase their technical skills, compete for exciting cash prizes, and get shortlisted for internship opportunities at Roomgi.

Eligibility
  • Open to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year undergraduate students only

  • All branches and specializations are allowed

  • Participation is allowed in teams only

Team Details
  • Team Size: 3 members

  • Cross-college teams: Allowed

Problem Statements

Participants must choose any ONE of the provided problem statements.
(Detailed problem statements will be shared during the kickoff session.)

Registration Fee
  • โ‚น50 per team only

A nominal registration fee is charged to ensure serious participation and to cover basic event logistics.
The entire prize pool is sponsored.

PPO Opportunity

Interns demonstrating outstanding performance, consistency, and strong problem-solving ability during the internship may be considered for a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO), subject to company requirements and evaluation.

Allowed Tech Stack
  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React

  • Backend: Node.js / Java / Python

  • Database: MySQL / MongoDB / PostgreSQL

  • Any open-source tools and frameworks are allowed

Requirements

Registration

All participants are required to complete the mandatory Google Form to confirm their participation in the hackathon. A nominal registration fee of โ‚น50 per team is applicable to ensure serious participation. Only teams that successfully submit the form will be considered valid participants.

WhatsApp Communication

All official announcements, problem statements, updates, and clarifications will be communicated exclusively through the official WhatsApp group. The WhatsApp group link will be shared after successful Google Form submission.    

Hackathon Timeline

The hackathon will commence on 26 January 2026 at 01:28 PM IST with the release of the problem statements. The development phase will run from 27 January to 29 January 2026.

Project Submission

Teams must submit their final project by 30 January 2026, 11:59 PM IST. Submissions must include a working prototype, GitHub repository link, and a 2-minute demo video. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
