🐸 Code & Croak: The Crebit Challenge

Organized by BRASACONNECT and Crebit, the Code & Croak Hackathon is a high-intensity sprint designed to revolutionize the global financial landscape. This event challenges participants to design and build scalable, technology-driven solutions that dismantle existing barriers in global finance.

What makes this hackathon special is its direct alignment with Crebit’s mission. You aren't just coding; you are enhancing cross-border efficiency, improving security, and promoting worldwide financial inclusion. Participants will kick off the event with a keynote from Jensen Coonradt, CEO of Crebit , and the top-performing teams will earn the prestigious opportunity to present their work at BRASA Connect 2026.

πŸ“† Event Schedule

Day 1: March 7

  • 9:30 AM | Opening Session (Discord): Challenge information and a keynote by guest speaker Jensen Coonradt, CEO of Crebit.
  • 10:30 AM | Hacking Time! (Discord): Teams will have the rest of the day to work on their projects with mentors available for guidance.

Day 2: March 8

  • 6:00 PM | Project Submission (Devpost): Teams must submit their final project video and code.
  • 7:30 PM | Live Pitch & Demo (Discord): Selected teams will present their pitch and perform a live demonstration for the judges.

Requirements

Core Project Focus

Your solution must address at least one of the following key pillars:

  • Cross-Border Efficiency: Enhancing the speed and reducing the cost of international transactions
  • Security: Improving the safety and integrity of global financial systems.
  • Financial Inclusion: Building scalable tools that promote worldwide access to financial services.

 

Submission Deliverables

All teams must submit the following via Devpost by 6:00 PM on March 8:

  • Project Video: A concise demonstration of your solution and its impact.
  • Codebase: Access to your repository (e.g., GitHub) for technical review.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC): A clear outline of your technical implementation, stakeholders, and success metrics.

Judging Criteria

  • Feasibility & Implementation
    Your proposal should identify stakeholders, define metrics, and demonstrate a Proof of Concept (PoC) for a scalable, technology-driven solution.
  • Technical Execution
    A strong technical foundation or working code can serve as a significant competitive advantage.
  • Business Thesis
    A clear explanation of why your solution makes sense and how it enhances cross-border efficiency or inclusion.
  • Presentation & Authority
    Selected teams must demonstrate clarity and authority while defending their idea during the Live Pitch & Demo.
