The Innovatera Hackathon is a purpose-driven initiative designed to inspire and empower women in Egypt to lead in the fields of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. By mobilizing young women developers and innovators, the challenge aims to create digital solutions that address critical obstacles faced by Egyptian women, fostering social impact and inclusion.
The Core Mission

Project Themes Teams must choose one of two primary tracks:
Health & Wellbeing: Applications supporting physical, reproductive, or mental health for women.
Green & Sustainable Innovation: Projects that integrate womenβs empowerment with environmental sustainability.
Get StartedTo begin your journey toward the final at the UFE Amphitheatre on February 28, 2026, follow these steps:
1. Form Your Team

Assemble a team of 5 members.

Ensure your team includes at least 3 women to meet eligibility requirements.

Participants can be students or alumni from UFE or other universities.
2. Define Your MVP

Identify a specific challenge faced by Egyptian women in Health or the Environment.

Plan a mobile-first application that is scalable and accessible.

Incorporate AI-based features, as functional AI prototypes (MVPs) are highly encouraged by the committee.
3. Submit Your Application

Complete the official application form during the marketing campaign.

Provide a general overview of your tech idea and specify your intended deliverables (e.g., mobile app or website).
4. Engage in Mentorship

If shortlisted, your team will enter a 3-week building phase.

Attend 6 online capacity-building sessions covering technical development and business modeling.

Work closely with your assigned mentor to refine your product before the final submission deadline
Requirements
To succeed at the Innovatera Hackathon, teams must focus on creating high-impact digital solutions that address specific challenges faced by Egyptian women. Your project must align with one of the two core themes: Health & Wellbeing or Green & Sustainable Innovation.
AI-Based Prototype (MVP): Teams are highly encouraged to develop a functional prototype that integrates Artificial Intelligence.
Mobile-First Design: Solutions should preferably be mobile-first applications to ensure they are accessible and scalable for the target audience.
Localized Reach: Your product must be developed in Arabic, English, or both to ensure it is inclusive and reaches the local community.
Cultural & Community Roots: The solution must be rooted in local culture and leverage community resources.
Real-World Application: The project must demonstrate clear potential for sustainability and practical application in the real world.
What to Submit
The submission process is designed to track your progress from a general idea to a finished technical product.
General Concept: During the initial application, teams must provide their general idea and specify the theme they are competing in.
Envisioned Deliverables: You must state the specific type of technology you are building, such as a website or mobile application.
Finished MVP: Competitors are required to provide a nearly finished version of their project for evaluation.
Business Model: As part of the mentorship phase, teams must develop and submit a business model for their project.
Refined Presentation: For the final hackathon day, teams must submit a refined product presentation designed for the UFE Amphitheatre stage.
