Up to $300,000 for Arts & Social Justice Collaborations

The Belonging in Oakland: A Just City Cultural Fund supports collaborations between Oakland-based artists, cultural practitioners and social change organisations working to advance racial justice through arts, culture and community-led policy change. Successful collaborations receive $300,000 over three years, alongside additional funding for artist wellbeing and project documentation.

Here's what you can expect:

• $300,000 over three years ($100,000 per year)

• $12,000 annual artist stipend for wellbeing and life-sustaining expenses

• Up to $25,000 per year for research and project documentation

• Peer learning, networking and collaborative support

• Funding for projects using arts and culture to drive racial justice and systemic change.

Who can apply?

• Oakland-based nonprofit organisations or fiscally sponsored groups

• Collaborations between social change organisations and artists/cultural practitioners

• BIPOC-led organisations with a track record in racial and social justice work

• Projects focused on community development, housing, education, environmental justice, health, workers' rights, immigration and related issues.
