The GitLab Foundation's Powering Economic Opportunity Fund (PEOF) is now accepting proposals for innovative projects that help workers secure and sustain higher-paying careers. Round 2 focuses on improving employer practices, skilled trades pathways and workforce systems to create lasting earnings growth in sectors such as energy, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. Partnerships between nonprofits, employers, unions and education providers are strongly encouraged.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Grants of up to $500,000

  • Flexible funding over 1โ€“2 years

  • Support for projects improving workforce pathways into skilled trades and high-demand industries

  • Priority for collaborative partnerships between nonprofits, employers, unions, academic institutions, startups and public sector organisations

  • Preference for projects demonstrating significant long-term earnings gains for participants.

Who can apply?

  • U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisations

  • Fiscally sponsored organisations or organisations applying with a 501(c)(3) partner

  • Partnerships between two or more organisations are prioritised
    ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Projects must be delivered within the United States.

Not eligible:

  • Individuals

  • International organisations

  • Non-501(c)(3) organisations without an eligible partner or fiscal sponsor

  • Research-only projects, capital campaigns or current GitLab Foundation grantees.
