The Ralph M. Barford Foundation 2026 Open Call supports Canadian organisations working in multiple sclerosis, children’s literacy, and post-secondary scholarships and bursaries. Funding can support both existing activities and new projects, including multi-year requests.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Grant funding for eligible Canadian organisations

  • Unrestricted funding to sustain existing activities and measurable outcomes

  • Project funding for new or specialised initiatives

  • Multi-year funding requests are accepted

  • Multiple sclerosis research and academic initiatives

  • Alternative approaches to MS research

  • Programmes improving quality of life and access to care for people living with MS

  • Children’s literacy programmes

  • Projects helping children reach grade-level reading by the end of elementary school

  • Post-secondary scholarships and bursaries

  • No fixed minimum or maximum grant amount is published for this open call.

Who can apply?

  • Registered Canadian charities

  • Other Canadian qualified donees

  • Organisations working within one of the Foundation’s eligible focus areas

  • Applicants can be located anywhere in Canada

  • The application must be submitted by, or with permission from, an authorised signing officer.
