  1. Ultimately we need to be inventing/investing in humanity, not capital gain. The current 'fashion' investment and direction is actually pushing us in the opposite direction to what we should be focussing on. We're going to see the following events over the next few years: Increased failure of (modern) electronics due to increased proton strikes getting through our atmosphere. (Quantum is incredibly susceptible to this, as are LEO satellites) Increased geological activity: earthquakes, volcanos, major flooding Increased anomalous weather Power and datacoms distruptions Food shortages: due both to environmental effects and also long supply chain disruption There are potential innovations/investments in each one of these subjects which would ease the path, but I can't see a source of funding in the UK for any of it, outside of academic research which rarely produces an end product. It's quite painful to watch
  2. It's difficult to get involved at a meaningful level with the climate crisis when quite frankly no-one in power is being honest about the root cause. Yes, climate change is real and happening, but it has very little to do with carbon or fossil fuels. The earth is changing: we are currently over-rotated and have a seriously weakened magnetosphere: that's the problem. We can't fix it, but could be much better prepared as a species if we accepted this. As long as we are all chasing Green-Washing solutions, we are part of the problem. I hoped ARIA was coming to the fore here, but I'm unconvinced they aren't just another money laundering service.
