Founded in 2015 as a robotics project within Adigo Mechatronics, Kilter spun out as an independent company in 2020. The company's goal is to address the challenges faced by farmers and accelerate the transition to a sustainable food system. By developing autonomous weeding robots, Kilter aims to improve farming practices and reduce the reliance on harmful chemicals.

Kilter's flagship system, AX-1, is designed for selective application in row and bed-based crops, allowing farmers to reduce pesticide usage while maintaining crop yield, health, and operational efficiency. The robot uses advanced imaging technology, AI, and patented droplet technology to target weeds with incredible accuracy of 6x6mm. This precision targeting results in up to 95% reduction in pesticide use, with no compromise on crop yield.

The partnership with Kubota goes beyond just financial backing, as it brings industrial expertise, market insight, and global distribution experience to the table. This collaboration will further strengthen Kilter's ability to scale internationally and make a significant impact on the farming industry.

Since its commercial launch in 2021, Kilter has been serving customers across Northern Europe and is continuously expanding into new markets. Growers in Norway, Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands are already using AX-1 in various crops such as carrots, onions, salad, and beets, with exceptional results.
