WeVote, a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote nonprofit startup, is seeking a passionate .NET Software Developer to join their growing team. This is a remote opportunity, allowing the successful candidate to work from anywhere in the world. As a .NET Software Developer, you will use your existing skills with C#, JavaScript, jQuery, .Net, and CSS/HTML to support the organization's mission of educating and mobilizing voters across America. This is a part-time volunteer position, requiring a commitment of 10 or more hours per week.

About the Company

WeVote is a movement of over 160 active volunteers who build mobile technologies to touch and mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. In collaboration with Vote USA, WeVote has served millions of voters for over 20 years by providing deep information about what is on each voter's ballot. As a celebrated Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee, WeVote is dedicated to providing a positive voting experience and increasing voter turnout. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement new enhancements to the Vote USA platform
  • Fix occasional bugs
  • Add, update, and maintain shape files used to construct customized ballots for voters based on their postal address
  • Respond to AWS server maintenance requirements
  • Coordinate with WeVote's engineers to integrate Vote USA's data into WeVote's platform
  • Participate in weekly Zoom meetings

Job Specifications

Must-haves:

  • 10+ hours per week availability during core team hours (M-F 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. in your own time zone)
  • Passion for politics and commitment to strengthening American democracy
  • Experience with C#, JavaScript, jQuery, .Net, and CSS/HTML
  • Willingness to work with and support other volunteers
