Warsaw-based Graftcode Secures €2.1 Million to Revolutionize Software Integration

In a groundbreaking move poised to reshape software development, Warsaw-based startup Graftcode has successfully raised €2.1 million in funding. The infusion of capital coincides with the launch of the beta version of their innovative platform, which aims to eliminate the traditional integration layer between software systems. This funding round, led by Hard2beat with participation from Digital Ocean Ventures, Heartfelt Capital, and private investors, brings Graftcode's total funding to €6.5 million.

Revolutionizing Integration

For decades, the software industry has focused on optimizing system connections rather than questioning the necessity of complex integration layers. Graftcode, co-founded by Przemysław Ładyński and Łukasz Ładyński, is set to change this paradigm. Their platform uses a technology called runtime bridging, enabling direct communication between applications written in different programming languages—without the need for APIs, middleware, or client libraries.

CEO Przemysław Ładyński asserts, “We built Graftcode to remove the integration layer entirely, not improve it. Developers can focus purely on business logic, and their systems become immediately ready for AI consumption without any additional work.”

Addressing a Costly Challenge

Software integration is a significant drain on development resources. According to a Forrester report, 70% of software development involves writing integration code, which detracts from creating new business logic. This integration overhead contributes to technical debt, with McKinsey estimating it consumes around 40% of IT assets and adds 10–20% to project costs. In the U.S. alone, Deloitte estimates its annual cost at approximately €1.2 trillion.

Graftcode's approach not only streamlines integration but also future-proofs systems for AI advancements. As organizations adopt AI, fragile integration architectures struggle to support advanced workflows, potentially leading to the abandonment of AI projects by 2027, as per Gartner research.

A New Standard for Developers

Graftcode’s platform supports 14 programming languages and integrates seamlessly with major cloud infrastructures like AWS, Azure, and GCP. It spans various integration categories, including web, mobile, IoT, cloud, microservices communication, and AI interactions. The result is a significant improvement in performance and cost-efficiency, with service interactions running up to 70% faster and cloud costs reduced by up to 10%.

Maciej Zawadzinski, Partner at Hard2beat, highlights the growing need for simpler software connectivity, especially as companies develop complex, AI-driven applications. “Graftcode introduces a fundamentally new approach that has the potential to reshape how developers build and scale modern software,” he says.

Why It Matters

For startups, founders, and investors, Graftcode represents a shift towards more efficient and scalable software development. By eliminating the integration layer, startups can allocate resources more effectively, reduce technical debt, and accelerate their time to market. This approach aligns with the open infrastructure model seen in successful platforms like Docker, offering a free core platform to developers and fostering community growth.

Looking Ahead

With the fresh capital, Graftcode plans to expand its language coverage, enhance compatibility with AI-assisted development workflows, and continue platform development. The company aims to reach 200,000 users by the end of 2026 and two million by 2027-2028, aspiring to become the global standard for software integration.

Graftcode's innovative approach could well be the catalyst for a new era in software development, simplifying integration and empowering developers to focus on innovation and growth.
