UK property technology company Reapit has secured more than £20 million in growth funding from Accel-KKR as it looks to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence across the estate agency sector.

The investment will support development across Reapit's core platform, consumer technology and AI capabilities. Combined with its existing research and development spending, the company says it will now invest more than £40 million a year in innovation.

For a business operating in a traditionally process-heavy industry, the size of that commitment is significant.

Moving Beyond the Property Transaction

Reapit has spent more than 25 years building software used by estate agencies to manage sales, lettings, customer relationships and property operations.

The company's next phase is focused on going beyond individual transactions.

Its Reapit Home consumer portal is designed to help agencies maintain relationships with customers after a property sale or letting has finished. By combining those customer interactions with existing transaction and property data, Reapit aims to give agents better insight into when customers may need additional services or be ready to make another move.

AI is expected to play a major role in that shift, helping agencies identify behavioural signals, automate administrative work and turn their existing data into actionable opportunities.

Why This Matters for PropTech

Estate agency software has historically been about making transactions easier to manage.

The bigger opportunity may now be helping agents understand the entire customer relationship.

That distinction matters. An agency might complete a sale today but lose contact with the customer for years. If technology can identify when that person is likely to move again, require another property service or become a new business opportunity, the value of the relationship extends well beyond one transaction.

That gives Reapit a potentially powerful position. Its platform already sits close to the operational data agencies generate every day, giving it a foundation to build AI tools around real-world property workflows rather than starting from scratch.

Backing Reapit's Next Chapter

Reapit's relationship with Accel-KKR stretches back to 2017, when the technology-focused investment firm backed the business. Since then, Reapit has expanded internationally and added businesses including Console and PayProp to its platform.

CEO Mark Armstrong says the new investment will allow Reapit to move faster rather than fundamentally change its strategy.

That may be the most interesting part of this raise.

Reapit is not trying to become an AI startup overnight. It is taking an established customer base, deep industry data and a mature software platform and using them as the foundation for an AI-led evolution of the estate agency industry.

For founders building in PropTech, there is a useful lesson here. AI may create the most value when it is built on top of strong industry relationships and data, rather than treated as the product by itself.
