London-based manufacturing technology company CloudNC has raised £15 million in new funding to expand its AI-powered software for precision machining and tackle some of the biggest bottlenecks holding manufacturers back.

The equity round is led by Nimble Ventures, with participation from Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First and Lockheed Martin Ventures.

The investment comes as CloudNC moves from early adoption towards broader commercial growth.

AI Meets the Factory Floor

CloudNC's flagship product, CAM Assist, uses AI to help machine shops create CNC machining strategies and toolpaths.

Normally, this process requires experienced machinists and programmers to make a series of decisions before a machine can begin producing a part.

CloudNC's software automates much of that repetitive work, helping teams move from a digital design to production faster while allowing skilled operators to focus on higher-value decisions.

The opportunity is significant because precision machining sits behind many industries, including aerospace, defence, automotive and advanced manufacturing.

CloudNC says its technology is now used by more than 1,000 machine shops globally, including customers such as Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine.

£15m to Attack More Bottlenecks

The new funding will help CloudNC expand adoption of CAM Assist across existing and new markets while developing additional AI products.

One of the most interesting is Quote Agent, which is expected to launch later in 2026.

Quoting might sound like an administrative task, but for machine shops it can directly affect revenue and margins. Slow quotes can mean losing potential customers, while inaccurate estimates can leave manufacturers with little profit once production begins.

CloudNC wants Quote Agent to use AI to make that process faster and more consistent.

The company is also investing in its commercial operations, customer support and partner network as it expands internationally.

Why This Funding Matters

There is a bigger story behind CloudNC's latest round.

Manufacturing has traditionally been one of the industries where automation is expensive, highly specialised and difficult to deploy. AI is starting to change that by allowing software to automate parts of the expertise-heavy workflows that sit between design and production.

That could have implications far beyond individual machine shops.

CloudNC is also working towards FedRAMP certification for CAM Assist in the US, potentially opening the technology to government agencies, defence contractors and other organisations with demanding security requirements.

For investors, that creates a compelling combination of AI and industrial infrastructure.

For manufacturers, the promise is even simpler.

Produce more, respond faster and get more value from the skilled people already on the factory floor.
