Hi from San Francisco: Tony, founder of Prelulu (video calls with AI characters)

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm Tony, founder of Prelulu, based in San Francisco. Glad to join.

Prelulu lets you video-call an AI character face to face in real time: the character looks at you and answers in its own voice, and you can interrupt mid-sentence (recovery is about 200-300 ms, which is my own figure, not an independent benchmark). Camera is optional.

It runs on web (https://prelulu.ai), iOS (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6790241654) and Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ai.prelulu.app), supports 27 languages, and is 17+. Your first call is free and you get free daily text messages; further voice/video calls use credits. We're heading toward roleplay and story chat, but that's not available yet.

Honest limits: it's a young product, and voice/video quality depends on your connection and language.

I'd really value honest feedback from this community: if you try a call, what feels unnatural? Also happy to hear how other founders here got their first users.

Hey Tony, welcome to the community! ๐Ÿ˜Š AI characters you can actually have video calls with sounds pretty wild! I'm curious, who are you building Prelulu for first, kids, adults, or people just looking for a fun new way to interact with AI?
