I Have All This Analytics Data, So Why Can't I Explain a Drop in Sales?

Featured Replies

We've got dashboards for everything. Website visits, clicks, abandoned carts, customer behaviour... you name it.

But sales dropped last month, and I'm still scratching my head. Traffic looks pretty much the same, so what's changed?

I've spent far too long going through reports without finding a clear answer. Maybe we're tracking too much and focusing on the wrong things.

Anyone else run into this? Which numbers do you actually pay attention to when trying to figure out why sales are down?

Hey @Amelia Attwood I've found that looking at total traffic can be a bit misleading. The interesting part is where people actually drop off.

Are they viewing products but not adding to cart? Adding to cart but not checking out? Those are two very different problems.

Sometimes the overall numbers hide what's really going on.
