I'm looking to get a foothold in the publishing industry, I don't have a specific genre in mind or even a specific niche. I do want to be involved in the publishing of books within my own business, so I thought I'd come here to get some general ideas. Looks like a knowledgeable place to be.

Hi, Jackson! Publishing sounds like a fun business, and with so many authors migrating toward indie and smaller publishing houses, you could find great success with it. I don't know that you have to limit yourself to a specific genre, but you might want to start out by publishing your favourite genre since you probably know the most about that one. Just until you get your feet wet, then you can branch out from there.
