We’re looking for an experienced operator with entrepreneurial ambitions to lead a new venture as Cofounder & CTO with our investment and the full backing of Founders Factory.

The Opportunity

Italy is one of the most underinsured countries in Europe when it comes to home and renters insurance, ranking 25th in property & casualty premiums relative to GDP, despite being the 7th largest life insurance market in the OECD.

This gap is no longer sustainable.

As climate risks accelerate, housing mobility increases, and the cost of rebuilding rises, Italian families urgently need better protection for the spaces and things that matter most. Meanwhile, the market remains dominated by legacy brokers and rigid products that haven't evolved in decades.

Yet change is coming fast. 77% of Italian consumers say they want to buy more insurance online in the future. Generative AI is set to reshape the insurance industry. And households are actively seeking smarter, simpler ways to insure what they love, without paperwork or phone calls.

We are seizing the opportunity to build a digital-first, data-powered MGA designed for modern life with a mission to make Italian families more resilient, financially and emotionally.

Backed by Founders Factory, Tetto is building a radically simpler, smarter, and more affordable way to insure your home and contents starting with a digital-first, data-powered MGA focused on young, urban policyholders.

We’re now looking for a technical co-founder to join the team and own the technology vision, architecture, and execution from MVP to scale.

The role

As Co-founder & CTO, you’ll work side-by-side with the Founder & CEO to bring Tetto from concept to product-market fit and beyond. You’ll lead the design and build of our MVP, data infrastructure, and API-first architecture, setting the foundation for how we acquire, underwrite, and serve customers in a way that’s 10x better than legacy insurers.

This is a hands-on, full-stack leadership role. You’ll need to move fast, solve hard problems, and obsess over building high-quality systems that support seamless integrations, smart underwriting, and frictionless experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

Own the technical roadmap, architecture, and execution of Tetto’s platform from day one
Build and launch the MVP using lean, modern technologies (utilising low/no-code, AI-powered IDEs, external APIs, pre-built insurance tools where useful)
Design, integrate, and manage data pipelines across property data, IoT, geospatial risk, customer behavior, and third-party APIs
Build Tetto’s own API layer, allowing seamless embedding into distribution partner flows
Collaborate to the foundation of models for automated pricing and underwriting logic, integrating insurance carrier data and market benchmarks
Set up internal tools for AI-powered claims handling and CX automation
Hire and lead the early engineering team, shaping culture, process, and technical standards
Work closely with product, insurance, and growth to iterate rapidly and deliver measurable customer value

What we’re looking for

Strong experience as a technical founder, engineering lead, or staff-level engineer in a startup or fast-scaling tech company
Proven ability to ship MVPs fast, with a pragmatic approach to technical debt and iteration
Deep understanding of API design and integration, including building API endpoints that can embed into third-party platforms
Experience with data architecture and enrichment, particularly around consumer profiling, risk modeling, or real-time personalization
Fluent in modern full-stack development (e.g., Node.js, Python, React/Next.js, PostgreSQL, Firebase, etc.)
Experience (or curiosity) around insurance, fintech, or regulated markets
Bonus: Experience with AI/ML applications, IoT integration, or geospatial data
Remote-friendly role, with a preference for future relocation or frequent travel to Milan.
Italian language skills are a plus, but not required.
