About the challenge

Women in Tech's Sunflower Hack is back and will be on Tuesday, April 14, 2026!

Sunflower Hack aims to develop its participants’ skills in team development, creative thinking, and efficiency. Beginner friendly and low pressure, this is a great chance for computer science, information systems, business analytics, and other majors alike to gain experience working with a team under a time restraint and presenting a final product to a panel of judges.

Participants will be given the chance to interact with each other before the event to form their teams of 2 to 4. Each team will be given 4 hours (time from check-in to the end) to develop an idea based on the theme (TBA).   There will be a total of 5 winning teams. Each participant in the winning teams will receive a prize. Winners will be chosen for each criteria, as well as one that fits all of them the best:
  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Feasibility
  • Impact
Food will provided throughout the day.   This event DOES NOT require previous coding experience; we strongly encourage people with ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE to attend. The hackathon is open to any Pace undergraduate student above the age of 18 years old. You have to be a Pace Student in order to participate. The Sunflower Hack Team hopes to provide another enjoyable and engaging experience for all attendees. We hope to see you then!
