In collaboration with the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORDยฎ, Harvard Undergraduate Rare Diseases (HURD) is excited to host HackRare, a hackathon focused on rare diseases.
Held in honor of Rare Disease Dayยฎ (February 28), the third annual HackRare Hackathon will take place over the weekend of February 28 - March 1, 2026 at Harvardโs Student Organization Center at Hilles (SOCH) in Cambridge, MA. Our goal is to bring together brilliant minds to explore computational solutions for rare diseases, leveraging the power of open science and genomic data.
Join us to deepen understanding and drive meaningful progress in improving the lives of those affected by rare diseases!
Requirements
Project Submission Guidelines
To be considered for any prizes, teams are required to submit the following two components:
- All code used in the development of their project.
- All materials they intend to use in their three-minute presentation. This may include, but is not limited to, a slide deck and a video demonstrating the functionality of their final product.
As stated in the submission form, the ground rules include:
- Only one submission per team is allowed.
- Once submitted, no edits or modifications can be made to project information or files.
- Please ensure all materials are final before submitting.
