  1. It sounds like you've been up to exciting things. What inspired you to enter the healthcare industry and develop your idea? I hope you get it off the ground.
  2. That's the first time I've heard of Time Doctor. It sounds like a handy app that could help people stay on track. I'll have to give it a try.
  3. I mostly focus on appealing to a different demographic. If the other service is marketed to women, then I target men. If it's styled towards adults, then I target children. I also try to put my price just under the competitor's.
  4. Did you guys create the logo yourself, or did you hire it out? I'm not much for digital artwork, so I'll have to hire a professional to craft it. There's just one major problem -- I have no idea what it should be. I'm not the most creative person. Where could I go to find a designer to come up with a logo idea and create it for me?
  5. I would love to take this route, as I'm sure most of would, but I haven't the funding. It sure would be easier than relying on investors who often want a stake in the company.
  6. Your platform sounds interesting, ScottyT. I can see how it would be successful today, with the cost of living on the rise like it is. I wish you lots of success.
  7. I used seed money to further test my app. I raised just enough to hire some devs and potential end users to try out the app and report any bugs or glitches that they experienced. This allowed me to make the necessary tweaks that were needed to create a finished product for the next investor round.
  8. Ouch! I've made the mistake of cashing in investments too soon, especially cryptocurrency. It still makes me cringe when I think about it today. Your mentor was wise.
  9. I enjoyed this podcast. I've heard about Lance Cottrell before, but it was nice to see him being so candid and relaxed. His advice about knowing when to quit really resonated with me. It's so hard to let go sometimes.
  10. I think it depends on the startup, to be honest. Since mine is about sustainability and preserving the environment for future generations, I've gone into meetings knowing what the investors hold dear and made an effort to connect with them on a personal level. I think my strategy helped. Even those who opted not to invest, still gave me useful feedback.
  11. I'm Jack. I've created an app that allows companies to track their sustainability efforts. The app then turns the data into easy to understand, catchy reports that can be used for advertising and PR events. It's in the early stages. I've started targeting companies in Bristol, since the city is one of the greenest cities in the UK. People really seem to care about sustainability. Plus, with Labour being in office, I figure they might create some new green incentives as well. I haven't figured out how to monetize my app yet, unfortunately. I need a bit of help with that.
