AI Hackathon - Ethical AI Data Solutions (Hybrid event)

The AI Hackathon - Ethical AI Data Solutions is a hybrid event running from 5 December 2024 to 8 January 2025, inviting participants to develop an Ethical AI-powered Climate Impact Visualization Platform. The challenge focuses on utilising citizen-collected data, advanced AI, and ethical data practices to address climate change.

Key Objectives:

• Bias Detection: Implement algorithms to identify and mitigate biases in citizen-collected climate data.
• Explainable AI Predictions: Develop transparent AI models that provide clear, understandable climate predictions.
• Localized Climate Impact Visualization: Create interactive tools that overlay NOAA's public climate data with personal observations, offering a comprehensive view of local climate impacts.

Participation Details:

• Eligibility: Open to individuals over 18 years old.
• Team Composition: Up to 5 members per team.
• Submission Requirements: Include a code repository, a 3-5 minute demo video, a pitch presentation, and a final report detailing the project's components.

Prizes:

• Affiliate Status: One year at the Santa Fe Business Incubator, granting access to programming, services, and limited facility use.
• Cash Prize: $1,000 for the winning team.
