Apply for funding for large team-based fundamental bioscience research projects pushing the frontiers of human knowledge.
Your project should demonstrate:

Funding opportunity: AHRC-DFG Research Grants: Round Eight (2025 to 2026)
Apply for funding to conduct arts and humanities research projects with German partners.
You must be:
proposing research within the remit of Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) based at a research organisation eligible to apply to AHRC working with a German team led by a researcher eligible to apply to DFG Projects must be composed of two highly integrated national teams based in the UK and Germany. All proposals must demonstrate the added value of international collaboration to research objectives.

Funding opportunity: Large grant outlines: February 2026
Apply for funding to support innovative, large-scale and complex projects that tackle big environmental science questions and have the potential to produce world-leading research.
We welcome multi and interdisciplinary research, as long as it is predominantly within the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC)โs remit, delivered by collaborative teams.
Funding of between ยฃ1.12 million and ยฃ3.45 million (at 100% full economic cost) is available for projects lasting up to five years. We expect to fund up to eight projects.

Funding opportunity: MRC Centre of Research Excellence: round four: outline application
Apply for MRC Centre of Research Excellence (MRC CoRE) funding to tackle complex and interdisciplinary health challenges.
You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for Medical Research Council (MRC) funding.
MRC CoREs will be funded for up to 14 years. Your award will initially last for seven years, with a further seven years based on successful review.
The full economic cost (FEC) of your MRC CoRE can be up to ยฃ26.25 million for the first seven years. MRC will fund 80% of the FEC. The maximum MRC contribution will be ยฃ21 million.
This is an annual funding opportunity. We expect to fund one or two MRC CoREs every year.
