  2. Funding opportunity: Pre-announcement: Biological influence on ocean carbon: novel modelling approaches

    Apply for funding for a UK-US project to develop new representations of key processes regulating ocean carbon storage for use in global models.

  3. Funding opportunity: UKRI Gambling Harms Research Coordination Centre (GHRCC)

    Apply for funding to coordinate and facilitate activity in the field of gambling harms research as part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)โ€™s Research Programme on Gambling (RPG).
    You must be based at a UK research organisation, IRO, or UK registered business eligible for UKRI funding.
    The Centre will identify gaps in gambling research, lead and manage a multidisciplinary research programme, collaborate with stakeholders to boost high-quality independent studies, explore how UKRI and other data assets can support the evidence base, and coordinate Gambling Harms Research and Innovation Partnerships (GHRIPs).
    The full economic cost of your project can be up to ยฃ10 million. UKRI will fund 80% of the full economic cost.
  4. Funding opportunity: Gambling harms research and innovation partnerships

    Apply for funding to develop Gambling Harms Research and Innovation Partnerships (GHRIP). The GHRIPs will be commissioned through a two-phase competitive process. The full programme will make up to ยฃ50m available over five years. This is the GHRIP phase one opportunity.
    During phase one you must provide resource and support capacity across stakeholders to undertake partnership development and landscape evidence analysis required to design the phase two work programme.
    The full economic cost of your phase one project can be up to ยฃ100,000. UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) will fund 80% of the full economic cost. UKRI will fund up to 20 phase one awards for nine months.

    Apply for funding to undertake ambitious transdisciplinary research to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
    You must be based by a research organisation eligible to apply for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding.
    Your team and research project will bring new perspectives crossing Councilsโ€™ remits to understand and provide solutions to tackle AMR.
    The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to ยฃ3,000,000, funded at 80% of the FEC and 100% of permitted exceptions, including project co-leads (international).
    You must have submitted a notification of intent at pre-application stage to be eligible to make a full application.
  7. Funding opportunity: Canada-UK NetworkPlus in semiconductor research

    Apply for funding to build a Canada-UK academic NetworkPlus in semiconductor research, share expertise in areas of joint interest and seed future projects. Focus on joint research and development strengths in compound semiconductors, photonics, NEMS/MEMS, advanced packaging and chip design.
    Funding for this activity is unilateral. It will develop a roadmap and vision for a longer-term larger scale Canada-UK initiative in semiconductors.
    You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for EPSRC funding.
    The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to ยฃ1,125,000. EPSRC will fund ยฃ900,000 (80% FEC).
    The project should last 36 months and start on 1 January 2026.

  19. Funding opportunity: Pre-announcement: Local Innovation Partnerships Fund

    This is a pre-announcement, more information will be available on this page in due course.
    This programme earmarks at least ยฃ30 million for each of ten regions across the UK, including one in each of the devolved nations.
    A competition will run for all other parts of the UK to bid for support to grow their innovation ecosystems. UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) will work with regional partnerships between civic authorities, businesses and research organisations to co-create a portfolio of investment in each region.
    The intention is to attract a further ยฃ1 billion additional investment, including from the private sector, and ยฃ700 million of additional value to local economies.
  20. Funding opportunity: Gap fund for early-stage development of new healthcare interventions

    Apply for funding to generate critical data that builds confidence in developing a new or repurposed medicine, medical device, diagnostic test, or other medical intervention.

    Since 1 April 2025 some independent research organisations have experienced changes in funding eligibility rules. The purpose of this opportunity is to provide strategic research infrastructure base funding, supporting independent research organisations to deliver Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) strategic priorities.
    This invite only opportunity will provide funding at 100% FEC to these invited institutions following a quality assessment. Funding will enable them to continue to provide organisational support to researchers successful in obtaining ESRC funding. You must be based at an eligible organisation in order to apply.
