    To lead a collaborative project, your organisation must be a UK registered business.
    The consortium must contain at least one UK registeredย micro, small or medium sized enterpriseย (SME) claiming grant funding on this application.
  5. Funding opportunity: Projects Peer Review Panel (PPRP) 2026

    Apply for funding to Projects Peer Review Panel 2026. Only invited applicants, who have undergone a successful statement of interest (SoI) stage are eligible to apply.
    You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for STFC funding.
    STFC provides research grant funding opportunities that are reviewed through frequent Projects Peer Review Panel (PPRP) rounds. Only invited applicants, approved by programme managers can submit a full proposal.
    The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be agreed with specific programme areas and STFC will fund 80% of the FEC.
    The funding opportunity will open on 8 September 2025. More information will be available on this page then.
  6. Funding opportunity: Doctoral focal award: nuclear skills

    Apply for funding to deliver doctoral focal awards (previously centres for doctoral training), offering high quality, cohort-based doctoral education in nuclear skills for the UK civil and defence sectors to home students.
    UKRI expect up to ยฃ45 million funding from the UK Government to be available for this opportunity. Subject to the current government spending review, additional government funding may be available.
    An intent to submit must be completed by 12 September 2025 4:00pm UK time.
    The UK government will fund 100% of eligible costs listed in the opportunity. Estates and indirect costs will not be funded.
  7. Funding opportunity: Pilot projects with the UK Human Functional Genomics Initiative

    You can apply for pilot project funding to collaborate with the UK Human Functional Genomics Initiative by one of two routes:

  9. Funding opportunity: Aviationโ€™s non-CO2 impacts on the climate 2025

    Apply for funding to deliver collaborative research which focuses on the underpinning science of aviationโ€™s non-carbon dioxide (non-CO2) impacts to identify benefits, mitigation options, informing industry and government policy decisions.

    based at a UK research organisation eligible for NERC funding in a role that meets the individual eligibility requirements The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to ยฃ354,375. We will fund 80% of the FEC.
    Projects must begin by no later than 1 March 2026 and last for up to 26 months.
  10. Funding opportunity: Turing AI Pioneer Interdisciplinary Fellowships: outline applications

    This opportunity is for established researchers from across UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) remit, without a background in core artificial intelligence (AI) research, who want to build domain relevant AI capability and develop advanced AI approaches to tackle a specific research challenge in their chosen field.
    You must be hosted and supported by a UK research organisation eligible for UKRI funding.
    The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to ยฃ2,187,500. UKRI will fund 80% of the FEC. The funding is subject to final budget approvals.
    Projects can be up to three years in duration and must start on 1 October 2026.
  11. Funding opportunity: Facility access funding for bioscience partnerships (invite only)

    Apply for this invitation-only funding opportunity to support UK business and bioscience academic partnerships in accessing and benefitting from STFC skills, capabilities and facilities to find solutions to industrially relevant bioscience challenges.
    You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for BBSRC funding. The full proposal stage requires both an academic and UK business partner to support the application.
    The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to ยฃ200,000, including academic costs (at 80%) and facility costs (at 100%).
    Projects can last up to 18 months in duration.
  12. Funding opportunity: Developmental pathway funding scheme: stage one

    Apply for funding to develop and test novel therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics and other interventions.
    Your project can start and finish at any stage on the developmental pathway from prototype development, through pre-clinical refinement and testing to early-phase clinical studies and trials (up to phase 2a).
    You must be based at a research organisation eligible for Medical Research Council (MRC) funding.
    There is no limit on the amount of funding you can apply for, but it should be appropriate to the project. We usually fund 80% of a projectโ€™s Full Economic Cost (FEC).
    This is an ongoing funding opportunity. Application rounds close every March, July and November.
  13. Funding opportunity: Rapid evidence reviews for the UKRI Research Programme on Gambling

    Apply for funding to conduct rapid evidence reviews (RER) in support of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Research Programme on Gambling. The reviews will help identify evidence gaps within the research and innovation ecosystem relating to gambling harms.
    The full economic cost of a RER can be up to ยฃ50,000. UKRI will fund 100% of the full economic cost.

Innovate UK innovation loans are for highly innovative late stage research and development (R&D) projects with the best potential for the future. There must be a clear route to commercialisation and economic impact.

  19. New Innovators in Marine and Maritime, Great South West

    UK registered micro and small businesses can apply for a share of up to ยฃ2.3 million for projects that grow their innovation activities in the marine and maritime cluster in the Great South West.

    This funding is from Innovate UKโ€™s Launchpad programme which supports the UK governmentโ€™s goals for local economic growth. This Launchpad is also supporting Maritime UK South West as the local cluster management organisation.
    Innovate UK will work with Cornwall Council, Plymouth City Council and Dorset Council to invest up to ยฃ2.3 million in innovation projects.

    Innovate UKโ€™s Growth Catalyst is a new integrated package of funding and support, designed to accelerate highly innovative start-up businesses through specific stages on their journey to becoming scale-ups and beyond.

  24. Quantum Business Incubation Centre

    The Quantum Business Incubation Centre (QuBIC) is designed to support early-stage quantum technology companies achieve their commercial potential by de-risking their route to market. It enables early-stage companies to develop new products or services based on quantum technologies (including computing, imaging, sensing, networks, cryptography, simulation, etc.).
    The QuBIC builds upon the Science and Technology Facilities Councilโ€™s strong track record of managing support programmes and facilities for small businesses across its locations and the technical expertise both at STFCโ€™s National Laboratories and at our partner organisations, such as The National Quantum Computing Centre.
    While the QuBIC will ultimately support start-ups working across the spectrum of quantum technologies, our current focus will be on supporting Quantum Computing start-ups. The QuBIC will support businesses developing Quantum Technologies (Quantum Computing- software and hardware, Quantum Sensing, Quantum Communications, etc.)
  25. Unlocking Space for Business Grant Call 2

    The UK Space Agency invites proposals from end-user business led consortiums, with a space supplier and any relevant integrator organisations, for innovative pilot projects to commercialise space solutions within the Financial Services or Transport & Logistics sectors in the UK.
    Projects must provide positive economic benefit to an end-user business within either the Financial Services or Transport & Logistics in the UK. Proposals must be UK based, led by UK based organisations.ย 
    Projects must involve at least one satellite data domain (Earth observation, Satcom, PNT), and may involve complementary enabling technologies such as AI, Quantum or Machine Learning.ย 
    Projects must start at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5+ and must progress to at least TRL 7 by the end of the project.ย 
    Projects must be able to demonstrate a tangible benefit to the end-user business within the 7-month maximum project duration. Projects must have clearly defined, and tangible outcomes measured against success criteria showing progress towards commercialisation. Examples of previous successful pilot projects can be foundย here.ย 
    Awarded projects will start from 1 September 2025 and must have fully completed by 31 March 2026. Projects should aim to be completed within 6 months, i.e. by February 2026, to allow for final wrap-up in March, with three milestones completed by January 2026. Projects planning to use the full 7-month duration should be aware that extension requests beyond the 31 March 2026 are not possible.ย 
    Grant funding per project is expected to range from ยฃ150,000 to ยฃ400,000. In exceptional circumstances, UK Space Agency reserve the right to adjust the value or duration of the grant funding available.
