  4. RevenueCat Shipaton 2025

    Welcome to the RevenueCat Shipaton โ€” the mobile hackathon thatโ€™s all about shippingโ€ฆ a ton.
    At RevenueCat, we're all about supporting developers to build and monetize amazing apps. After the overwhelming success of last yearโ€™s Shipaton, weโ€™re thrilled to announce the return of our global hackathon.

    This August and September, weโ€™re inviting developers from all corners of the globe to ship new apps and compete for over $300,000 in cash prizes and truly unique rewards.
    The challenge
    Your mission is simple:
    Ship a brand-new app to the iOS, Android, or Mac App Store between August 1st and September 30th, 2025.
    Integrate the RevenueCat SDK to power at least one in-app or web purchase.
    Our goal is to give you that final push to ship that project youโ€™ve had in the back of your mind but never took the time to get started.

    Note: Updates to previously released apps wonโ€™t qualify - itโ€™s all about bringing something new to life!
    Bigger and better

    Last year's Shipaton sparked a frenzy of creativity and innovation across the internet. Developers blew us away by launching incredible apps, producing inspiring YouTube series, flooding social media with #BuildInPublic journeys, and creating insightful shorts on TikTok and Instagram.

    You could receive a coveted โ€œShippyโ€ award and your app displayed on the iconic โ€œThe Oneโ€ billboard in Times Square!
    Inspired by your amazing contributions, we've upped the ante for 2025:

    Over $300,000 in cash prizes.
    Winning apps featured prominently on the giant billboard in Times Square.
    Trip to New York City with invites to RevenueCatโ€™s App Growth Annual conference.

  5. TiDB AgentX Hackathon 2025

    Welcome to the TiDB AgentX Hackathon: Forge Agentic AI for Real-World Impact, running from August 1 to September 15, 2025. Last yearโ€™s event saw thousands of developers build simple RAG demos. This year, we want multi-step AI agents that demonstrate real-world workflows. Whether you use vector search, full-text search, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or Bedrockโ€™s LLMs, your goal is to deliver solutions that do more than answer a single question. Teams can win a share of over $30,000 in prizes, connect with TiDB engineers, and be featured on our blog and podcast. Letโ€™s see what you can build.
    Requirements
    What to Build
    Leverage TiDB Serverless (including vector search) on TiDB Cloud to create a working software application that showcases an innovative, multi-step, agentic solution. Your agent must chain together at least two of the following building blocks in a single automated workflow:

    Sample Project Workflows (for inspiration only)
    Step Description Ingest & Index Data Pull in vectors, full-text docs, images or logs into TiDB Serverless (PDFs, chat logs, sensor feeds, whatever you like) Search Your Data Query those indexes with vector search, full-text search or both to find similar cases and relevant records Chain LLM Calls (Optional) Call Bedrock or any LLM to analyze results, summarize findings or suggest next steps Invoke External Tools Plug in APIs or services such as payment gateways, mapping services, calculators or Slack bots Build a Multi-Step Flow Wire everything together so the agent moves from input all the way through to a final action in a single automated process
    Sample applications built with TiDB Serverless.
    What to Submit
    Provide the TiDB Cloud account Email associated with the Project (You can sign up for a TiDB Cloud account here)

  8. Maximally AI Shipathon

    ๐Ÿง  About the Challenge Maximally AI Shipathon is a 48-hour global hackathon where you donโ€™t need to be a coder, genius, or โ€œAI expertโ€ to join. Itโ€™s for anyone whoโ€™s curious, chaotic, or creative โ€” and wants to build something real with AI.
    Itโ€™s fast. Itโ€™s friendly. Itโ€™s a little messy.
    But youโ€™ll leave with a project, new people, and a ton of momentum.
    Whether you build solo or with a team, this is your chance to explore, experiment, and ship โ€” without the usual pressure.
    ๐ŸŽฏ Who is this for? First-time builders & students
    No-code makers & indie hackers
    AI-curious creators, designers & storytellers
    Anyone who wants to try something fun and real in 48 hours
    You donโ€™t need prior experience โ€” just bring your energy.
    ๐Ÿงญ Choose Your Track Pick a track that fits your vibe (or invent your own):
    ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Build with AI โ€” Tools, bots, websites, agents, automations
    ๐ŸŽจ Create with AI โ€” Art, music, videos, branding, memes, edits
    ๐Ÿงช Experiment with AI โ€” Pranks, prompt hacks, simulations, weird stuff
    ๐Ÿš€ Get Started Register on Devpost
    Join our Discord (link in confirmation email)
    Requirements
    ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What to Build This hackathon is your playground. You're not here to impress some panel in suits โ€” you're here to explore what AI can do, collaborate with others, and ship something real.
    Here are some ideas across our 3 core vibes:
    ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Build with AI AI-powered tools, agents, or assistants
    Chrome extensions, web apps, or automations
    GPT-based workflows or chatbots
    Productivity hacks, daily use tools, or startup MVPs
    ๐ŸŽจ Create with AI Music, visuals, or videos generated using AI
    Branded content, memes, storytelling experiments
    Podcast snippets, voiceovers, or remix tools
    Design kits, art drops, or identity experiments
    ๐Ÿงช Experiment with AI Prompt hacks and strange simulations
    AI pranks or absurd ideas that surprisingly work
    Weird tools that serve no purpose but are cool anyway
    Something nobodyโ€™s built before, even if it half-breaks
    There are no wrong answers here. You can build solo or with a team. Use code, no-code, or pure prompt magic. Just make sure itโ€™s yours โ€” and make it during the event.
    ๐Ÿ“ฆ What to Submit Every submission must be made through Devpost before the deadline (Sept 1, 12:00 AM IST).
    Youโ€™ll need to include:
    ๐ŸŽฅ 1. A Demo Video (max 2 minutes) Screen-recorded or self-shot โ€” doesnโ€™t need to be fancy
    Just show your project, how it works, and what it does
    Authentic > professional
    ๐Ÿ“ 2. A Short Write-up Tell us:
    What you built
    Why AI was used
    How it works / how you built it
    Optional: What tools/tech you used, and what surprised you
    ย 3. Working Link This could be a GitHub repo, hosted site, or live demo
    If itโ€™s not live, at least show it running in your video

  14. Contracts for Innovation: Resource Efficient Chemicals Impacts

    The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), in collaboration with Innovate UK, will invest up to ยฃ3 million in this Contracts for Innovation competition.
    The aim of this competition is to build on the DESNZย Unlocking Resource Efficiency research by supporting organisations to deliver an impact validation report for a resource efficiency solution.
    If your own organisation does not have operations in the relevant sector, we expect you to include an integration supporter in your project to help facilitate the impact validation of your solution. This could be (e.g.) a manufacturer, recovery business, remanufacture or repair business, potential customer, or a specialist in impact validation.
    The impact validation should be informed by a demonstration which may be carried out as part of the project or otherwise conducted within the last five years.
    The innovative resource efficiency solutions should address themes in one of the following strands:
    Resource Efficient Chemicals Impacts (this strand) Resource Efficient Construction Impacts Resource Efficient Automotive Impacts This is a single phase competition.
    For applications in this Resource Efficient Chemicals Impacts strand, your project can focus on one main theme:
    industrial symbiosis in the chemicals sector redesign of chemical formulations and products defossilisation: captured CO2 defossilisation: sustainable biomass defossilisation: chemical or mechanical plastic recycling, or other valorisation routes for waste streams .accordion_cleanup .prose :where(ul>li):not(:where([class~=not-prose] *))::marker { display: none; } .accordion_cleanup li.relative { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style: none; } .accordion_cleanup .prose ul { list-style-type: disc !important; } .accordion_cleanup .prose li { padding-left: 0.375em !important; margin-top: 0.5em !important; margin-bottom: 0.5em !important; } { const el = $refs['accordion1']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Who can apply?
    To lead a project, you can:
    be an organisation of any size, including those based in the EU, EEA or internationally work alone or with the subcontracted skills and expertise of others from business, research organisations, research and technology organisations, or the third sector (charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups) Contracts will be awarded to a single legal entity only. The majority of the project work and key deliverables must be completed by the applicant and be carried out in the UK. Subcontractors can be used, but only for specialist skills.
    If your own organisation does not have operations in the relevant sector, we expect you to include an integration supporter in your project to help facilitate the impact validation of your solution.
    Demonstrations should be in a suitable industrial environment within the UK to enable the effective validation of the solutionโ€™s viability and impacts. We also welcome applications for solutions which have been demonstrated in a relevant sector in the UK within the last five years, but which have not yet reached commercial maturity and require further impact validation.
    Your project could involve, for example:
    a manufacturer within the chosen sector, for example, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers, raw material producers recovery businesses, for example, demolition companies, scrap processors, re-use and recycling facilities remanufacturing and repair businesses organisations that have the potential to become a customer specialists in impact validation, for example, in Life Cycle Analysis We recommend approaching potential integration supporters as early as possible during the application process or early stages of your project. This ensures your industry relationships are well established before delivering the project demonstration. We welcome projects that include innovative startups.
    If your project is successful, we reserve the right to request letters of support from organisations named in your application.
    { const el = $refs['accordion2']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Eligible projects
    Projects must:
    start no sooner than 1 November 2025 end by 31 March 2026 last between three and five months have total costs of between ยฃ50,000 and ยฃ300,000, inclusive of VAT; we expect the majority of projects to have costs less than ยฃ100,000 Demonstrations should be in a suitable industrial environment within the UK to enable the effective validation of the solutionโ€™s viability and impacts.
    Projects can be 100% funded, as Contracts for Innovation competitions involve procurement of R&D services at a fair market value and are not subject to subsidy control criteria that typically apply to grant funding.
    { const el = $refs['accordion3']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> General scope (applies to all three strands)
    The aim of this competition is to build on the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ)ย Unlocking Resource Efficiencyย research by supporting organisations to deliver an impact validation report for a resource efficiency solution.
    This should be informed by a demonstration, which may be carried out as part of the project or otherwise conducted within the last five years.
    The innovative resource efficiency solutions should address themes in one of the following strands:
    Resource Efficient Construction Impacts Resource Efficient Chemicals Impacts Resource Efficient Automotive Impacts You must select a single strand to apply for. If a project covers multiple strands, choose the one in which the majority of the work will be undertaken.
    Innovate UK and DESNZ are collaborating with the chemicals, construction and automotive sectors to accelerate and increase the adoption of innovative resource efficient technologies, low carbon materials and circular business models. This is supporting the governmentโ€™s commitment to transition the UK to a Net Zero, circular economy.
    This competition will focus on the impact validation of resource efficiency solutions. This competition will support the development and delivery of high maturity demonstrations, and the validation of demonstrators from recent (within the last five years) research and development projects.
    This competition will:
    enable efficient integration of technologies into targeted industrial sectors support innovative suppliers for market readiness provide more granular evidence on the potential impact of resource efficiency solutions to help meet the UKโ€™s territorial carbon budget targets As a minimum, proposals into this competition must relate to solutions at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 or higher. If you have validated your solution at TRL5 (in a relevant environment) your project should be to validate up to TRL7 (in an operational environment) and gather operational data to develop a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
    If you have already validated at TRL7, your project should be to gather operational data to develop an LCA.
    In both cases, the solution should still be a prototype or custom built system, not a full commercial version. You must show evidence of this, the testing and validation previously undertaken as part of your application and identify the TRL that you expect to be at start and end of the project.
    { const el = $refs['accordion4']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Specific scope for Resource Efficient Chemicals Impacts
    We encourage you to focus on innovative solutions within the chemicals value chain, includingย tier 1, 2 and 3 chemicalsย (see Fig 1). Solutions should improve the resource efficiency of the sector and reduce life cycle emissions. Solutions must fall within one or more of the following themes:
    1)ย Industrial symbiosis: uses for industrial by-products, including materials that would otherwise go to waste or be downgraded to lower value uses, but excluding heat and energy
    2)ย Redesign of chemical formulations and products to reduce emissions and improve circularity, such as:
    reductions in resource intensity of chemical formulations for a given product, or products production efficiencies to reduce material waste and improve yield rates when using defossilised chemical feedstocks transitions to circular business models including โ€˜chemicals as a serviceโ€™ or โ€˜chemical leasingโ€™ approaches 3)ย Defossilisation: replacement of virgin fossil-based organic feedstocks with captured CO2, particularly where:
    the CO2 may be derived from sustainable bioenergy, direct air capture or other point sources; impact validation should include these activities any hydrogen feedstock used is not fossil derived 4)ย Defossilisation: replacement of virgin fossil-based organic feedstocks with sustainable biomass.
    5)ย Defossilisation: replacement of virgin fossil based organic feedstocks through chemical plastic recycling, or other valorisation routes for waste streams
    Solutions in the defossilisation themes could include:
    development of new tier 2 and 3 chemical synthesis routes that do not rely on fossil-derived based chemicals development of chemical formulations that do not rely on the traditional petrochemical value chain and support the creation of high value consumer products repurposing and retrofitting of existing process equipment built for fossil-based feedstocks repurposing and retrofitting of feedstock supply chains built for fossil-based feedstocks improvements in feedstock quality feedstock distribution and logistics You are encouraged to identify how your solution builds on the existing research and innovation landscape, for example, referencing:
    theย Unlocking Resource Efficiencyย research NICER Circular Chemical Economy Centreย insights theย Sustainable Chemicals and Materials Manufacturing Hub (SCHEMA Hub)ย insights theย Innovation Action Plan to Transform Industrial Waste Gases to Chemicalsย by theย Circular Economy Innovation Network You must demonstrate a credible and practical route to market, so your application must include an assessment of the commercial viability of your solution and a plan to commercialise your results. Theย specification reportย provides details of the commercial assessment that you must undertake as part of this project, and an initial assessment is required as part of your application.
    { const el = $refs['accordion5']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Demonstration requirements
    A key project deliverable, that must be included in your milestones, is a demonstration of the solution. The further validation of demonstrations and trials from recent research and development projects is also in scope, provided these meet the eligibility requirements for this competition. Costs for retrospective work cannot be claimed, only new analysis to validate the potential impact of the demonstrated technology.
    The demonstration must take place in an environment representative of where the solution will be deployed, allowing for effective evaluation. As part of your project milestones, you are encouraged to invite stakeholders from your target sector to a demonstration event. The demonstration must take place in a setting where potential customers and industry representatives can witness the solution as a compelling business proposition.
    If your own organisation does not have operations in the relevant sector, we expect you to include an integration supporter, for example, a trusted sector representative in your project to help facilitate the demonstration and trialling of your solution. In their role as potential future customers, they will be well placed to propose an appropriately representative environment.
    You will be expected to collaborate with your integration supporter to achieve this, securing all necessary permissions and approvals.
    Example environments include:
    within a manufacturing process within a recovery or recycling facility within a remanufacturing, re-use or repair facility in an end-use site, such as a construction project within a customer facing environment, such as retail This list is not exhaustive, and other environments may be more appropriate to demonstrate certain types of solutions.
    You should de-risk all aspects of your project before submitting a bid to this competition, ensuring it can be delivered in line with the requirements of DESNZ and Innovate UK.

  16. Contracts for Innovation: Novel shielding materials and technologies for fusion

    This is a Contracts for Innovation (previously SBRI) competition funded by the UK Atomic Energy Authority. The aim of the competition is to develop solutions to fusion energy challenges in two key priority areas. The competition has one theme: Novel shielding materials and technologies for fusion. This covers:
    Reducing the carbon footprint of fusion power plants through novel radiation shields. Improving the economic prospects for fusion through lower cost, flexibly deployable, or reusable radiation shielding. Reducing external dose and increasing component survival through improved shielding. This is a Phase 1 feasibility study and there is no restriction on technology readiness level.ย  Future phases will depend on funding.
    We expect to fund a number of projects. Each project should start by October 2026 and be delivered by April 2026, lasting up to 6 months. Each project can range in size up to total costs of ยฃ250,000, inclusive of VAT. (The total budget is ยฃ2.5m.)
    Further documentation is available by registering on the UK governmentโ€™s contracts finder at the link below, and expressing your interest in the contract.
    .accordion_cleanup .prose :where(ul>li):not(:where([class~=not-prose] *))::marker { display: none; } .accordion_cleanup li.relative { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style: none; } .accordion_cleanup .prose ul { list-style-type: disc !important; } .accordion_cleanup .prose li { padding-left: 0.375em !important; margin-top: 0.5em !important; margin-bottom: 0.5em !important; } { const el = $refs['accordion1']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Who can apply?
    To lead a project, you must be an eligible organisation of any size with a UK registration or registered office (this includes academic organisations and businesses).
    You may work alone or with others from business, research organisations, research and technology organisations or the third sector as subcontractors
    Applicants are welcome from all sectors.
    { const el = $refs['accordion2']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Technical specifications and technology scope
    The aim of this competition is to promote innovation in radiological shielding for the expected usage cases within future fusion power plants including, but not limited to, the STEP prototype. The different applications include shielding from neutrons โ€“ both interior or exterior to a fusion vessel, as well as shielding from gamma dose during operation and maintenance. But the requirement is more than just sufficient shielding; there is a desire to innovate to reduce the carbon/environmental impact of shielding during manufacture, transport, installation and decommissioning, as well as reducing cost where possible by reducing mass/volume requirements (which will also help to make fusion systems easier to design and manufacture) and encouraging recycling/re-use.
    A proposal could focus on:
    Novel shielding materials and designs for in-vessel neutron and gamma shielding; solutions that provide sufficient shielding with a minimised volume and/or mass. High efficacy in-vessel shielding with improved radiation tolerance and environmental compatibility (thermomechanical loading, corrosion resistance, fuel retention, etc.) to improve component lifetimes (and thereby reduce replacement requirements, overall cost and environmental impact). Reduced activation options for in-vessel shielding โ€“ lowering the lifetime activation of the shield components will be important for reducing lifetime environmental impact (and decommissioning costs). Novel modular shielding for ex-vessel (e.g. bioshield) applications with reduced lifecycle (manufacture, operation, decommission) carbon footprint. Modular shielding solutions (particularly for ex-vessel), considering both new (lightweight) materials and/or novel fabrication methods to achieve modularity. Challenges will exist around ensuring the modularity doesnโ€™t create reduced shielding performance (e.g. due to shine paths). Shielding solutions that balance reusability against initial fabrication cost (economic and environmental) โ€“ considering whether a reusable system can have a higher initial environmental footprint or cost of manufacture but this can be offset against increased total lifetime. This could apply to both in-vessel and ex-vessel applications. For full technical specifications with details of shield performance requirements, please register at the link below and download the supporting documents.

  19. HMGCC Co-Creation Challenge: Compact, low-cost GNSS simulator

    Summary of the challenge
    HMGCC Co-Creation is seeking Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) simulators to support testing of multiple communication systems at the same time.
    In this challenge, we want to hear from organisations which have developed, or can develop, compact and low-cost systems to replicate real-time global GNSS constellations.
    Organisations are being asked to apply if, over a 12-week period, they can develop and demonstrate technology to meet this challenge. HMGCC Co-Creation will provide funding for time, materials, overheads and other indirect expenses associated with this challenge.
    Technology themes
    This challenge has the potential to touch on key areas of technology including:
    communication systems electronic engineering; modelling and simulation; position navigation and timing; radio frequency science and engineering; space and satellites telecoms ย Key information
    Budget: Up to ยฃ60,000 (exc. VAT)
    Project duration: 12 weeks
    Competition opens: Monday 7 July 2025
    Competition closes: Thursday 7 August 2025 at 5pm
    .accordion_cleanup .prose :where(ul>li):not(:where([class~=not-prose] *))::marker { display: none; } .accordion_cleanup li.relative { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style: none; } .accordion_cleanup .prose ul { list-style-type: disc !important; } .accordion_cleanup .prose li { padding-left: 0.375em !important; margin-top: 0.5em !important; margin-bottom: 0.5em !important; } { const el = $refs['accordion1']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Challenge context and gap
    Context of the challenge
    The UK national security and defence community operates globally, often in contested environments and conflict zones. Many communication systems rely on GNSS for position, navigation and timing signals.
    To ensure the reliability of these systems, it is crucial to first test them in the most realistic environments possible. Typically, the technology needs to be portable and pocket-sized to meet the requirement. Due to limited access to trials in real world locations, testing is typically carried out in radio frequency (RF) shielded rooms to replicate these environments.
    The gap
    There is a gap in the market for a compact, full constellation simulator which is lower in cost, compared to other, currently available solutions. To test physical devices effectively, a realistic and real-time GNSS simulation is necessary, which is not limited to GPS but also includes other constellations like Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDuo, QZSS and NavIC.
    { const el = $refs['accordion2']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Example use case
    Marianne is developing a tracking product to be used in a contested area where those working for national security could be at risk of capture. In these cases, a product of this type could enable their location to be known. There needs to be a very high assurance that it will operate as intended when deployed.
    The test facility has no access to GNSS constellations, so Marianne, a test engineer, needs a GNSS simulator to show how the tracking device would work anywhere in the world. The simulator must be able to use any set of GNSS constellations, not just those available in the UK.
    She tests ten of her devices in a shielded container to determine whether the assurance requirements are met using a range of constellations. She is able to remotely programme different global locations dynamically and assure herself that the devices are accurately reflecting real-time GNSS constellations. Thanks to this capable simulator, processes are easy to follow, efficient and provide
    assurance to test results.
    { const el = $refs['accordion3']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Project scope
    In this 12-week project, applicants should aim to deliver a high Technology Readiness Level (TRL) device. We expect existing technology to be adapted for this use case, with a focus on building a functional final product that can be purchased at low cost.
    There is potential for wider commercial applications in automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics, and we welcome commercialisation efforts.
    This challenge is open to TRLs 6 โ€“ 9. We recommend that proposals include both the existing and expected TRL at the end of the 12-week period. The essential, desirable and stretch targets are listed below.
    We are open to either:
    All elements within a portable form factor (ideally within the footprint of H 207mm x W 130mm x D 220mm) or: A single transmitter within the shielded environment but with a remotely hosted appliance for signal generation. { const el = $refs['accordion4']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Solution requirements
    Essential requirements for solution:
    Must be as compact as possible. Must provide real-time simulation of GNSS full constellations using genuine data. Uses standard IP over ethernet interface for networking purposes. Ethernet or RF over fibre are also acceptable solutions. Must relay genuine Ephemeris and Almanac data (to enable A-GPS services). TLE data does not meet the requirement. Must be powered through UK standard 3-pin plug or by standard USB port. Must be either compliant or working towards UK electrical/RF safety standards. Has ability to feed NMEA standard data format. Desirable:
    Scalable to generate up to 100 discrete GNSS signals. Trade-off of complexity and final product cost against functionality, e.g. could focus on a single GNSS system if there is an implication on cost. Final product cost in the order of ยฃ5000. Low power solution. Avoid containing export-controlled material (e.g. ITAR software/hardware). Use of SMA connectors for RF solutions. Constraints: must operate in a RF shielded room. Not required:
    Horizon scanning only. No virtualisation or digital twinning. In a final product, testing data (used for AI training for example) would not be possible to share back with the solution provider. { const el = $refs['accordion5']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Dates
    Competition opens Monday 7 July 2025 Online briefing call / Deadline to submit clarifying questions Tuesday 22 July 2025 at 11am โ€“ click here to register for a place Clarifying questions published Tuesday 29 July 2025 Competition closes Thursday 7 August 2025 at 5pm (UK time) Applicants notified Tuesday 26 August 2025 Pitch day in Milton Keynes Thursday 4 September 2025 Commercial onboarding begins Thursday 11 September 2025 (Please note, the successful solution provider will be expected to have availability for a 1-hour onboarding call on this day via MS Teams to begin the onboarding/contractual process.) Target project kick-off Monday 6 October 2025 { const el = $refs['accordion6']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Eligibility
    This challenge is open to sole innovators, industry, academic and research organisations of all types and sizes. There is no requirement for security clearances.
    Solution providers or direct collaboration from countries listed by the UK government under trade sanctions and/or arms embargoes, are not eligible for HMGCC Co-Creation challenges.
    { const el = $refs['accordion7']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> How we evaluate
    All proposals, regardless of the application route, will be assessed by the HMGCC Co-Creation team. Proposals will be scored 1โ€“5 on the following criteria:
    Scope Does the proposal fit within the challenge scope, taking into consideration cost and benefit? Innovation Is the technical solution credible, will it create new knowledge and IP, or use existing IP? Deliverables Will the proposal deliver a full or partial solution, if a partial solution, are there collaborations identified? Timescale Will the proposal deliver a minimum viable product within the project duration? Budget Are the project finances within the competition scope? Team Are the organisation / delivery team credible in this technical area? { const el = $refs['accordion8']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Invitation to present
    Successful applicants will be invited to a pitch day, giving them a chance to meet the HMGCC Co-Creation team and pitch the proposal during a 20-minute presentation, followed by questions.
    After the pitch day, a final funding decision will be made. For unsuccessful applicants, feedback will be given in a timely manner.
    { const el = $refs['accordion9']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Clarifying questions
    Clarifying questions or general requests for assistance can be submitted directly to cocreation@hmgcc.gov.uk and Co-Creation@dstl.gov.uk before the deadline with the challenge title as the subject. These clarifying questions may be technical, procedural, or commercial in subject, or anything else where assistance is required.
    Please note that answered questions will be published to facilitate a fair and open competition.
    { const el = $refs['accordion10']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Routes to apply

    { const el = $refs['accordion14']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> FAQs
    1. Who owns the intellectual property?
    As per the HMGCC Co-Creation terms and conditions, project IP shall belong exclusively to the solution provider, granting the Authority a non-exclusive, royalty free licence.
    2. Who are the end customers?
    National security users include a wide range of different UK government departments which varies from challenge to challenge. This is a modest market and so we would encourage solution providers to consider dual use and commercial exploitation.
    3. What funding is eligible?
    This is not grant funding, so HMGCC Co-Creation funds all time, materials, overheads and indirect costs.
    4. How many projects are funded for each challenge?
    On average we fund two solution providers per challenge, but it does come down to the merit and strength of the received proposals.
    5. Do you expect to get a full product by the end of the funding?
    It changes from challenge to challenge, but itโ€™s unlikely. We typically see this initial funding as a feasibility or prototyping activity.
    6. Is there the possibility for follow-on funding beyond project timescale?
    Yes it is possible, if the solution delivered by the end of the project is judged by the HMGCC Co-Creation team as feasible, viable and desirable, then phase 2 funding may be made available.
    7. Can we collaborate with other organisations to form a consortium?
    Yes, in fact this is encouraged, and additional funding may be made available. Please see the maximum budget of the individual challenge.
    8. I canโ€™t attend the online briefing event, can I still access this?
    If a briefing event is held, which varies challenge to challenge, then yes. Either the recording or the transcript will be made available to view at your leisure after it has been broadcasted. This will be made available via the HMGCC Co-Creation community collaborators.
    9. Do we need security clearances to work with HMGCC Co-Creation?
    Our preference is work to be conducted at OFFICIAL, we may however, request the project team undertake BPSS checks or equivalent.
    10. We think we have already solved this challenge, can we still apply?
    That would be welcomed. If your product fits our needs, then we would like to hear about it.
    11. Can you explain the Technology Readiness Level (TRL)?
    Please see the UKRI definition for further detail.
    12. Can I source components from the list of restricted countries, e.g. electronic components?
    Yes, that is acceptable under phase 1 โ€“ feasibility, as long as it doesnโ€™t break UK government trade restrictions and/or arms embargoes.
    { const el = $refs['accordion15']; const top = el.getBoundingClientRect().top + window.pageYOffset - 80; // adjust offset window.scrollTo({ top, behavior: 'smooth' }); }); } else { selected = null; } "> Further considerations
    Solution providers should also consider their business development and supply chains are in-line with the National Security and Investment Act and the National Protective Security Authorityโ€™s (NPSA) and National Cyber Security Centreโ€™s (NCSC) Trusted Research and Secure Innovation guidance. NPSA and NCSCโ€™s Secure Innovation Action Plan provides businesses with bespoke guidance on how to protect their business from security threats, and NPSA and NCSCโ€™s Core Security Measures for Early-Stage Technology Businesses provides a list of suggested protective security measures aimed at helping early-stage technology businesses protect their intellectual property, information, and data.
    To apply, please send applications directly to cocreation@hmgcc.gov.uk and co-creation@dstl.gov.uk including the challenge title (โ€œCompact, low-cost GNSS simulatorโ€) with a note of the collaborator network where this challenge was first viewed (in this case, Innovate UK Business Connect).

    We recognise that companies in different segments of the zero emission vehicle supply chain use different terminology to describe their manufacturing development phases. Our intention with the wording of the competition is described below.
    These are not suggested as absolute definitions, but instead as general categories to enable you to communicate the intention of your project:
    pilot scale: scale up stage at which flexibility is key, utilised to develop initial production capability under real world conditions, whilst still maintaining significant flexibility for iterative improvements demonstration scale: scale up to intermediate production scale that reflects a production representative manufacturing workflow, focusing on repeatability with lower flexibility than pilot, and often representing final stage of manufacturing validation before industrial scale production industrial scale: full scale industrial production targeting high volume applications, deployed to fully realise the production volume potential for a product, utilising large scale industrial facilities, employing mass manufacturing techniques You may use your established terminology to describe your project in your application, but you must explain this clearly with regards to your goals and stages of development.
    Target market
    You must develop business cases that take new technologies towards scale up, market entry and industrialisation. You must outline how your project will enable you to enter the following vehicle supply chain or markets:
    On-highway vehicles, for example, L-category, motorbike, car, bus and truck applications Off highway vehicles and non-road mobile machinery (NRMM), for example, construction, agriculture, mining and other off-highway applications Where your business case enables entry into other markets, you must be clear how the project prepares your business for entry into one of these vehicle markets.
